E41ST - Library Way

As an avid book reader I am often looking for the next book to borrow from my library. Typically, I start at Amazon.com with bestsellers or books I have read in the past. Then I use Amazon's "customers who bought this also bought..." feature to find similar books. Then I search my library's catalog... The process works, but is tiresome... and although tools exist to facilitate library lookups (e.g. WorldCat and BookMarklets), I have been unable to find anything that offers an integrated experience. Existing library lookup tools work if you know exactly what you want, they dont offer a wholesome visual experience for exploring...

E41ST is an attempt at making a corner of the web look the way I like to see it! Named after New York's East 41st Street (Library Way), it provides an integrated interface for Browsing(at Amazon)-and-Looking-up(at Library). The current version meets my basic needs, but I will be happy to evolve it based on Feedback from like-minded people (must love libraries!).

If you are or a teenager or a mother of one, consider picking up a copy of What I Meant... by Marie Lamba.

It is a hilarious story about the life of a 15-year old girl who has an Indian dad (i am one!), an American mom; an aunt who is stealing her stuff and turning her family against her; a best friend who isn't talking to her; plummeting grades; parents thinking she is bulimic; and boy troubles galore...

The author is a friend and this is her debut novel... Give it a try!
